Our philosophy

Most people know how it is to lose a beloved person. We know the grief, the pain and the feeling of emptiness. Often, we feel lonely with our mourning and sorrow.

In our diverse world, there are most different ways how societies and their individual members address the loss of a beloved person and how to handle the omnipresent sadness.

I have lived in different places and traveled regions in the world where the loss of a beloved person is a collective matter, not only a matter of a single individual. Many societies such as in West Africa or in South Asia address this difficult stage of everybody’s live actively and with a vivid culture of grief. The person who left was and stays part of the community. Ancestors become mediators between our world and the world beyond. Therefore, there is a strong wish to stay in touch with the passed-away for example through sacrifices or different kinds of ceremonies. This rich culture of grief is not easy to sustain in times where families and friends live more and more spread in different locations. Communal living has become more and more sporadic. Therefore, to hold things together, to enjoy, but also to live through difficult moments is getting more and more demanding.

My wish was to take up the people’s desire to jointly express their respect, love and gratitude for the passed-away person. I created Let’emLive! A social-media platform to host a memorial for every single person who has left this world. A memorial that gives space to remember that beloved person who stays alive through all the stories, pictures, messages and all kinds of content the community of mourning shares with each other. It is a space to remember, to prevent the forgetting and to bring together family members as well as friends of a beloved person that departed for a higher purpose.

At Let’emLive! we offer as many services as possible for free. Therefore, everybody can create a free memorial and has access to our services also those who cannot afford to participate in the costs. Anyhow, the creation and further development of a social-media platform needs funding. To keep our services available, some complementary services are charged. You are welcome to use them to make this platform work sustainably.

On the long run, Let’emLive! is going to establish a foundation that invests money in sustainable markets and ideas. The return on this investment will pay the current costs of the Memorial Platform. This will make Let’emLive! with all its hosted Memorials independent from future cash-flow and will assure the continued, sustainable existence. Let’emLive! Forever.
