Frequently Asked Questions

How can I find a Memorial of a passed away person?

There are three options to find a Memorial. You can search Memorials from the main page (“home”). When you are logged-in, you can also start your inquiry from the page “connect” on the header menu. Alternatively, you can go on the header “shared with me” and select the green button “find Memorials” at the top right. The more specific and exact your inquiry, the better the result.

How can I follow a Memorial?

Proceed as described above (How can I find a Memorial?). As a result of your search, you will see the relevant Memorials shown as a card that summarises main information. On the top right of the card select “follow+”.
You can also be invited to a Memorial by another user.

Who can see the Memorial?

It depends on your settings. If you choose “private” on “manage my memorials”, only members invited by you will have access. You can see the list of Followers on the Overview of the Memorial created by you.
If you choose “public”, every logged-in user will view the Memorial. You can switch between “public” and “private” without limits. A summary of the Memorial created by you will be shown to every visitor on Let’emLive!. The summary shows the Memorial picture and indicates basic information such as name and profession.

How to send greetings, emoticons or contribute?

As a user you can send greetings, emoticons or contributions to any public Memorial. For a private Memorial you have to be a follower. Go on the Memorial to which you want to leave your greetings. Select “send greetings”. Here you can also send an emoticon or contribute.

How can I contact other users?

You cannot search for another user directly, but you can get in contact via the Memorial created by the user you are looking for. On each Memorial you will find the button “contact” on the right. There, you can send a message.
Of course, you can also invite other users to visit the Memorial created by you. Go to the specific Memorial “Overview” and select “invite”.

How can I add a familial relationship/Memorial on my Family Tree?

On any Memorial created by you, Select “Family Tree” from the menu. Go on the Family Tree and select the Memorial to which you want to relate another Memorial. On the top right select “+”. Now, type in the Memorial name you want to get connected to. Click Enter/Select. Out of the list of results, select the specific Memorial and select the familial relationship. Select “add on tree”." +"
If you are not the holder of the Memorial to be added, your request will be sent to the Memorial holder for confirmation before it will be displayed on the Family Tree." +"
You can only create direct relationship. Indirect relations (auntie, cousin, brother-in-law, etc.) can be established by connecting with an “intermediate” Memorial (parent, spouse). See question below.

How can I create an indirect relation (sister/brother, auntie/uncle, sister /brother-in-law, cousin etc.) on my Family Tree?

This needs two steps. If you want to relate the Memorial created by you with for example its aunties Memorial, you first have to add the relation between the Memorial created by you and a parental Memorial (direct relation, see answer above). If that Memorial was not created by you, the holder of the parental Memorial has to confirm the relation before it will be displayed." +"
Secondly, you will select the parental Memorial from the Family Tree and add the relation to the daughter (“child”) as described in the question above. For other indirect relations (cousin, sister-in-law, etc.) the same principle applies.
